Yes, it’s about that time. Christian Homeschool Moms has gotten a makeover! Now, when I began this blog in 2012 I had some original ideas about what I would love to see happening here, and I am honestly happy with where God has lead it. But I’m receiving the green light on this, and it’s time to step it up a notch.
I’m not just referring to the look and feel of the site. That has changed, too. But in the upcoming weeks and months you’ll find some other changes on the horizon, and most of it will be driven by my underlying motto of Moms Helping Moms To Homeschool With Joy. It’s that easy. In a nutshell, that’s really all I want this space on the web to be about- helping you to get through your homeschool days joyfully. And that’s no small feat, I know.
I’m going to start being more a lot more authentic with you all about my day-to-day (although I feel I’ve been doing this already in my videos!) But I want you to see that homeschooling is not perfect. In fact, I’m a prime example of someone who from year to year chooses curriculum that doesn’t always work out for us- changing curriculum the way I change my winter scarves. I try it on, and if it doesn’t fit, I take it off.
On that note, I’ve found that authenticity leads to solutions. If you’re going to get anything out of this blog you’ll need to see the down and dirty, the real deal. You’ll get to continue watching me pluck my way through decisions- one curriculum video after the next- one homeschooling philosophy video after the next- and the next. Each time I provide an interview with a popular homeschool curriculum publisher or an author of a book, I’m attempting to weed my own way through the masses of homeschool-mania in order to locate a sense of sanity for my own homeschooling world. I am by no means attempting to convince you that my homeschool curriculum choices for one year is the way to go. Because a year later, I might just change my mind. I’m figuring this thing out, just like you are. And if you already have it together, please drop me a note. I’d like to interview you.
No, I’m kidding. We’re all in this together, I know.
That said, get ready for some changes ahead. Good changes, of course! I’m looking forward to being real with you in this homeschooling journey and encouraging you along the way.
How can we help you? I am my writing team would love to encourage you. If you have any homeschool-related questions or concerns, please feel free to drop us a line right here at this post, or at our facebook group.
