Not long ago I guest posted at The Homeschool Classroom about how to start a homeschool blog. And I’ve also been sharing lately how I’ve been using blogging as a way to help my family financially.
When I started my first blog back in 2006, it was a personal family blog- and my idea was to share my life with the world. Gradually I began to see how important it could be for business too – so blogging became a tool to assist with increasing our family income. It took me a while to get used to the idea, and I even struggled with the concept of making money through my blog, but today is a different story. No more struggle in that area! In fact, it feels great to know that I can help pay for my kids’ curriculum.
Anyhow, there are different levels of blogging. I started with both hobby blogging, and then professional blogging, and there are pros and cons to both. When I first moved out to the west coast, I blogged for personal reasons- mainly as an emotional and therapuetic outlet. In fact, one of my blogs is still very much a personal outlet that’s all about my life and thoughts on motherhood.
