I’m Demetria, homeschool mompreneur, songwriter, and Navy wife to my wonderful husband of 21 years. I’m a multi-passionate woman of faith who happens to have had the wonderful opportunity to begin homeschooling my daughters when it was not a popular choice- in 2007. This blog is not only a collection of homeschool helps and resources, but also chronicles of my life as a homeschool mom for over 15 years.
I started this online community in 2012 when I had first moved from the Deep South to the West Coast and we re-started our lives as a homeschooling family in an unfamiliar environment. During those moments that I felt alone in my homeschooling, I found it therapeutic to reach an audience of other homeschool moms through my YouTube videos. This eventually turned into my blog and podcast.
I also began this site out of a need to connect homeschooling moms with one another- offering inspiration, encouragement, motivation, and resources. I often hear from other moms how much they need to be connected with other like-minded moms who are also on the similar path of home education. It really helps to know what other moms are thinking, what curriculum they’ve used, and ideas they’ve had to help their homeschool.
As for me, I personally need connection with other homeschooling moms- just like you. I especially wanted to provide a place for homeschooling moms of faith to inspire one another to keep on going down this path to a wonderful, fulfilling journey- even on days when it doesn’t feel quite so fulfilling. Since the recent events of the pandemic, I have expanded my offerings at Christian Homeschool Moms by providing homeschool coaching to many new-to-homeschooling families. I also offer a homeschool course to help you plan your homeschool. There will be more products to come with time! This blog continues to grow, and I hope that these resources will be a blessing to you and your family.
I am also available to speak on homeschooling at your virtual event. Please reach out if you are looking for a homeschool speaker for your event, or if you are a publisher that would like to speak about a sponsorship or collaboration.
