Hello friends.

I wanted to come up with a really cool blog post this week: a nice 3-pointer. Something like “How to Take Care of Yourself While Homeschooling”. Or something catchier like “Five Ways to Ease Into Homeschooling During the Pandemic”.

To be perfectly honest, I don’t have another 3-pointer or 5-pointer.

In fact, I am taking a homeschool blogging break this Fall season (and my podcast too). I have just accepted a job as a part-time teacher at a small classical school (for homeschoolers) this academic year, which I am very excited about. Additionally, I am still homeschooling my middle-school daughter (who is also starting at this school) while teaching on Outschool. Needless to say, this blog will need to go on break. 🙂

For how long I will break, I do not know, and I may even come back with updates from time to time – mostly announcements and to point you to my other outlets where I will still be present and sharing with you as a community.

Instead, you can catch me mostly at MomZest- my YouTube channel. This is where I’ll be keeping you up to date with my latest. On occasion, you might also find a new blog update at my MomZest blog – though, admittedly, it has been a while.

Here’s my latest video, where I take you inside my kitchen to cook Power Greens with me. (It’s a great recipe that has been helping me with anemia over the years.)

Additionally, I offer classes for preschoolers over at Outschool. You can check me out there too.

I’m speaking at The Homeschool Together Conference at Melanin Village This Week

The Melanin Village has gathered some of the most influential voices in black home education for The Homeschool Together Conference and I am a speaker.

The conference is FREE 3-day event but you want the ALL-ACCESS PASS. It gets you all the notes and worksheets, unlimited replays for a year, and my favorite part: a ticket to the MELANIN MEETUP: HOMESCHOOL EDITION. It’s a NETWORKING event just for us that you don’t want to miss.

I will be there with many other magical and melanated homeschoolers. Even more, you can get 10% OFF of the ALL-ACCESS PASS using my special code: MOMZEST. Hope to see you there!

It’s been quite a journey of homeschool blogging since 2012 here at Christian Homeschool Moms. I plan to get back into the swing of things one day, but I never know when.

Right now, I know that my heartstrings are pulled toward teaching. At a time when our nation is still in unrest, I feel a calling to help in the endeavor to keep our kids taken care of by using my passion for teaching- not just at home for my own kids- but for other families as well.
