Homeschool Encouragement for moms
Sometimes we moms just need a little bit of encouragement. I recorded a video a few weeks ago that I hope will assist you in your journey. The homeschool encouragement I offer is for you to think on, meditate, and let it slip deep down where you can really feel that extra boost of motivation.
I want you to know that I understand- I’ve been there- I get it!
So, here are my homeschool encouragement tips…
Don’t compare yourself.
How many times do we as moms end up comparing our kids with other kids, our homeschools with other homeschools? Sadly, it happens a lot the the homeschooling world.
We find out another mom’s kids won the gymnastics meet twice in a row, and someone else’s younger kid became a Classical Conversations memory master when our teen can’t even memorize half of the U.S. states.
We feel badly because our homeschool friend just ordered a boat load of curriculum for an awesome publisher, and here we are struggling just to pick up a few odds and ends items from the Dollar Store and Amazon.
That’s when the evil-eyed monster of jealousy usually sets in, and off we go into comparison land.
Comparing ourselves with other homeschool families is just not worth it.
Don’t give up too soon.
Sometimes we choose a curriculum and it just doesn’t work. Sometimes we join a coop and it’s just not a good fit. Although I’m always open to switching things up and making a homeschool change where necessary, it’s also equally important not to give up too soon.
Sometimes if we simply stick it for a little piece (a few weeks, a few months even), we’ll find how to tweak our circumstances to make it work for everyone involved.
Don’t sweat the small stuff.
And my last bit of homeschool encouragement for you awesome moms is to absolutely, whatever you do, don’t sweat the small stuff! At the end of the day, some of the things we worry about just truly don’t matter at all.
I hope this post has been an encouragement for you! Let me know in the comments below.
