From time to time I have to do a curricula switch mid-year (that’s one of the beauties of homeschooling).  My last consistent grammar program besides Shurley English was a stab at BJU Grammar for 3rd grade.  It’s been two years and we hadn’t landed a grammar program that was a good fit for us.

Finally I’ve found some language arts curricula that I think will work well for my 5th grader.

Among them are Brainiac spelling cards along with the  SpellingCity website.  We are also using Exercises in English Level E by Grammar for Life, Sadler Oxford Vocabulary, and the Daily 6-Day Trait Writing by Evan Moore and Writing in Action by K12.

I share about my finds here on this video (as well as what I’m using for my 5 year old’s phonics practice).
