Here’s a pretty neat site I found that empowers kids to see how important math is in their lives.  It’s called Zeno Math and here’s what the program is all about, according to their website:

Zeno is about the infinite possibilities that arise from an individual’s relationship with math. The stronger an individual’s relationship with math and the longer that relationship can grow and develop the greater that individual’s possibilities become. These infinite possibilities demonstrate that math, when engaging, fun and accessible, can have a transformational impact on a person’s life. The name ‘Zeno’ honors Greek philosopher Zeno of Elea – one of the first people to talk about the concept of infinity.

Here at Zeno, we believe that with the self-confidence and skills gained by experiencing math in fun, engaging, accessible ways, a person’s possibilities are infinite.

They also have a math book reading list which I found helpful for kids who love great stories but need a little boost with math:

And here are some fun math games, including mental math:

Homeschooling math can get a little easier with programs like this one…so check it out.
