Listen to “CHM 082: Trusting God as Homeschool Moms” on Spreaker.
As we enter this holiday season, it can be easy to forget how much we can and should trust in the Lord (and not in our own strength) for the things we need. I want to encourage you to remember that when your trust is in Him, you won’t be disappointed. Scripture clearly states in Proverbs 3:5:
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
Why we should be trusting God
You see, we won’t always understand the circumstances of our lives. Life situations can be hard. You might be sick, going through financial difficulties, or just having a really hard time with a family member or friend. One of the beautiful aspects of walking with Jesus is knowing that despite what we are going through, we can trust Him to make it better. We can trust Him to take us through our challenges. We can trust Him that we’ll come out on the other side victorious. Sometimes we just need a good reminder to keep walking with the King- placing one foot in front of the other, day after day.
Never give up the good fight, homeschooling mom! If you feel discouraged, read the testimonies of others and how God brought them through tough trials. For example, listen to Tammy’s interview and how the Lord has brought her family through so much adversity and made a way for her to begin her life again with new opportunities. When you feel discouraged, talk to others who have been through the mire but have a testimony of how God has brought them out. (I love listening to Joyce Meyer!)
But most of all, when you’re feeling discouraged, open up God’s Word and glean from Holy Scripture. His Word will minister to you in your time of need. Even a simple verse can resonate in your heart and resound within your soul as though you’ve read several chapters. That’s just how powerful the Word of God is.
That said, I want to share a printable with you to help you stay reminded that you can, and should, trust in the Lord. He is there for you, will never leave, and forsake you during this holiday season, and He will bear you up no matter your struggles.
